MERCY!
The Redlegs were all over the Padres today, like the proverbial cheap suit. Cincinnati pounded out 18 hits en route to a 15-5 victory over San Diego in Peoria.
Chad Reineke started for the Reds and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings (1bb, 1k).
Reds batters beat up on former teammate, Aaron Harang (3ip, 7h, 7r, 1bb, 1k, 2hr). Ryan Hanigan (1-for-2, 3-run HR), Juan Francisco (1-for-4, 2-run HR) and Chris Heisey (2-for-3, 2-run HR) all went deep. Kris Negron (2-for-2, 1r, 2rbi), Dave Sappelt (1-for-3, double, 2rbi) Devin Mesoraco (2-for-2, 1r) and Corky Miller (2-for-3, 1r, 1rbi) also shined at the plate.
The Reds improved to 8-4 and tomorrow will take on the world champion San Francisco Giants in Goodyear. Bronson Arroyo, Aroldis Chapman and Edinson Volquez are expected to pitch for the Reds.
