HERE COMES THE SUN
In preparation for my Saturday departure to Arizona, I’ll be out of the office tomorrow taking care of personal matters (errands, appointments, etc). Therefore, I wanted to take this time to remind you that beginning Saturday, I’ll be blogging live from 2011 Reds Fantasy Camp in Goodyear, AZ.
I’ll remain in the Grand Canyon State until mid-March, so I’ll have all of your on-site Reds action here on Better Off Red.
I’m really looking forward to Fantasy Camp and sharing all of the goings-on with you on the blog. It’s going to be a lot of fun and I’m going to try and promise you at least one-belly laugh per post.
I spoke to Reds TV broadcaster Jeff Piecoro this afternoon. He’s also participating in Fantasy Camp and he gave me some kindly advice today on which cup and brand of jock-strap to use during the games. I’m sorry you missed out on that chat. Jeff’s a funny dude and I’m looking forward to hitting him in the small of the back with a 48 mph fastball.
Saturday’s arrival also means I’ll get to see some of my favorite people in the organization, like Reds Arizona Operation Manager Mike Saverino; my pals Matt Maloney and his wife Kalee, Sam LeCure and Daniel Ray Herrera are also there and attended the Grace Potter concert last night in Scottsdale. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.
Tom Browning was in the office today and he and I are on the same flight Saturday. I’m sure some of my blogs from camp will feature “Mr. Perfect.” I’m really looking forward to seeing my main man Lee May. As you could probably tell from the Caravan, “Mo” has become one of my most favorite dudes on the planet earth.
So tell a friend about BOR and give them a heads-up that we like to keep it kind of zany around here.
Since this is kind of like my last official “off-season” post, I just want to thank you all for keeping me warm during the winter months. We’ve had a lot of fun and we’re going to have even more fun during the 2011 baseball season. When I return from the desert (or dessert, either one), let’s get together for a bowling party, whaddya say?
Before I sign off, here are a couple of recent random photos:
That’s all for now.
Can one of you folks pick up my mail for me and take care of my cats while I’m away? (haha, just kidding).
We’ll catch up on Saturday!
Expect good news,
