ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE/INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE UPDATE
In last night’s Arizona Fall League action, the Peoria Saguaros lost to the Scottsdale Scorpions, 4-3. Several Reds farmhands are on the Saguaros roster this season, including C Devin Mesoraco who last night went 3-for-4 with a 2-run homer and 3 RBI. SS Kris Negron went 0-for-3. RF Dave Sappelt was hitless in 2 trips. RHP James Avery pitched a scoreless inning of relief (2bb).

Also in Arizona yesterday, the Reds Instructional League team took on the Indians in Goodyear. RHP Jose Arredondo, who is recovering from “Tommy John Surgery” (2/2/10), gave up a run in 1.0 inning of work (1h, 1bbb, 1k). He threw 24 pitches, 12 for strikes and dialed up the radar gun to 93mph.
