For the first time in the long and storied history of Great American Ball Park, the pressbox windows were closed tonight during the game due to a bug invasion…
Here’s a photo of one of the culprits…

1. alt-J - "An Awesome Wave"
2. Wild Belle - "Isle"
3. Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs - "Mosquito"
4. Hookworms - "Preservation"
5. Kurt Vile - "Walkin on a Pretty Daze"

You could see these nasty bugs EVERYWHERE on the TV last night. So gross!!! What the heck are they?!?!
That’s a type of mayfly (Possibly Hexagenia?). They tend to swarm at lights which is probably why they were attracted to the stadium. They have a pretty short lifespan as adults- the larvae are aquatic.
