Louisville outfielder Wladimir Balentien last night at Indianapolis extended his hitting streak to 7 games…in 19 games this month he’s batting .453 (34-for-75) with a .512 on-base percentage and a .707 slugging percentage…in 107 games overall this season for the Bats, Balentien is batting .284 with 22 HR, 71 RBI and a .532 slugging pct…he’s hitting lefties at a .362 clip (38-for-105, 7hr, 21rbi).   

Since joining Lynchburg on 8/12, RHP Josh Ravin has allowed just 2 unearned runs over 3 starts (16ip, 8h, 7bb, 18k, .140oba)…Ravin, 22, was selected by the Reds in the fifth round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft out of Chatsworth High School (Chatsworth, CA).

LHP Aroldis Chapman (Louisville) last night at Indianapolis retired all 3 batters he faced to notch his 8th save…over his last 21 appearances, Chapman is 3-0-8 with a 1.21 ERA (22.1ip, 11h, 5r/3er, 10bb, 35k, 1hr, .141oba)…in 25g since moving to the bullpen on 6/23, he’s held opponents to a .160 batting average and stranded all 8 of his inherited runners (29ip, 11r/8er, 2.48era, 12bb, 46k).
