LOUISVILLE 8, TOLEDO (TIGERS) 7: The Bats have now won 6 straight…Louisville rallied for 2 runs in the top of the 9th to win…LHP Ben Jukich started and was reached for 6 runs on 8 hits in 5.0 innings (1bb, 4k)…RHP Homer Bailey (rehabbing right shoulder) pitched 1.0 scoreless inning of relief (1bb)…LHP Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 5th save (2k)…the Bats scored 8 runs on 10 hits…DH Wladimir Balentien paced the offense with 3 hits and 5 RBI…1b Yonder Alonso went 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored.
CHATTANOOGA (DODGERS) 12, CAROLINA 10: RHP Scott Carroll started for Carolina and was chased after 3.0 innings (9h, 10r/10er, 1bb, 2k, 1hr)…the Mudcats plated 10 runs on 16 hits…SS Kris Negron (2r, 1rbi), RF Sean Henry (2r, 2rbi) and C Devin Mesoraco (1hr, 2r, 2rbi) each had 3 hits…1b Mike Costanzo belted his 10th home run…CF Dave Sappelt (1-for-5, 2rbi, 1bb) reached base safely for the 35th conescutive game.
LYNCHBURG 2, POTOMAC (NATIONALS) 5: RHP Curtis Partch started for Lynchburg and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 6.0 innings (3bb, 6k, 1hr)…RHP Pedro Villareal (0-1) suffered the loss in relief (1.2ip, 4h, 3r/2er, 1bb, 2k)…the Hillcats scored 2 runs on 7 hits…3b Jose Gualdron went 2-for-4 with a run…RF Kyle Day ripped a 2-run double.
WEST MICHIGAN (TIGERS) 8, DAYTON 2: RHP Ricky Bowen (2-7) started for Dayton and gave up 7 runs (6er) on 13 hits in 4.2 innings (2bb, 3k)…RHP Doug Salinas fired 3.1 scoreless innings of relief (1h, 2bb, 3k)…the Dragons scored 2 runs on 4 hits…RF Ryan LaMarre went 1-for-3 with a run and a walk.

ALONSO HEATING UP
Louisville’s Yonder Alonso last night at Toledo went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 10 games (19-40, .475)…in 81 games this season for the Bats, Alonso is batting .301 with 9 HR, 45 RBI and a .357 on-base percentage.
Carolina outfielder Dave Sappelt has now reached base safely in 35 consecutive games, the longest such streak this season in the Southern League…during the streak, Sappelt is batting .398 (53-133) with a .478 on-base pct…he currently leads the league with a .360 batting average (118-for-328), one of the highest marks in all of the full-season minor leagues…Sappelt also ranks among Southern League leaders in on-base percentage (.415, 2nd) and slugging percentage (.549, 3rd).
GOING BATTY IN LOUISVILLE
With last night’s win, the Bats have won 6 straight and are a season-high 15g over .500…They are 22-3 since the All-Star break and 33-12 in the second half of the season…the Bats are just 1.5 games back of the division lead, their closest deficit since 4/22…From 7/1 to 7/4 Louisville was 13.0 games out of 1st.
