Reds rookie Travis Wood threw seven scoreless innings, 41-year old Russ Springer handled the eighth inning and then 40-year old Arthur Rhodes completed Cincinnati’s 4-0 win at Pittsburgh.  It was the first game in major-league history in which a rookie starting pitcher and two 40-something relievers combined for a shutout.
