FOR HELENA…

I recently received the following email from Donna Azbell and I wanted to give it a special mention here on BOR…

Jamie,

I have really enjoyed reading your blogs and looking at all the photos. How bout them Reds?

I would like to pay tribute to my mother whom we just laid to rest this month. She and my father were Reds fans as well as the whole family and in looking for photos for the funeral visitation I came across this one of my Mother and my son, Helena and Nicholas. Nick is now 30 and we live in Latonia, Ky, but our hometown is Lancaster, Ohio.

Thanks,

Donna

100820-A-2050S-017.JPGJamie,

The Stanley Cup was at the Governors Mansion in Springfield, Illinois last week. Since Joey Votto’s from Toronto and I’m a lifelong Reds fan, what better way to have a photo wearing his replica jersey? The NHL guy with the Trophy (it gets a warm bath and polished every day) knew about Joey, the incredible year he’s having and thought it was a cool idea.

REDS STATE CHALLENGE CONTINUES…

NorthDakota.jpg
You’re up, North Dakota! If there are any Reds fans up there in the Flickertail State, please send the photographic evidence to me at jramsey@reds.com.

The Better Off Red Reds State Challenge was answered last week by Massachusetts.  Let’s take a look….

Even though this was taken in New Hampshire, we live in Mass, so I think this should count as 1 more for the Bay State.  Here is my son Dylan sitting on Humpty Dumpty’s wall.  Can not confirm or deny if Humpty is a Redleg fan.  But Dylan is, so I know I’m doing at least one thing right as a dad.

Take care,

Dave Becker

Hi Jamie:

I want to submit a picture of my son Luka who is enjoying his first season of Reds baseball!  He sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night because dad is yelling with joy as the Reds have made this a wild season.  As for the picture we sort of feel that we are back in school and waited to the last second to do our homework assignment for this week.  Here is a picture of Luka sitting outside a Commuter Rail station right outside of Boston.

Our best to the Reds Organization in the final month of the season!
