LOUISVILLE 6, INDIANAPOLIS (PIRATES) 1: RHP Matt Klinker (3-1) started for Louisville and was outstanding in his 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 7…LHP Daniel Ray Herrera picked up the save with 1.1 perfect innings…the Bats collected 6 runs on 14 hits…RF Danny Dorn paced the offense with 3 hits (1r, 1bb)…SS Zack Cozart went 2-for-5 (3rbi) and drove a ball off the foul pole for his 11th homer of the season (the foul pole is currently listed in critical condition)…C Ryan Hanigan led off and had 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI.
CAROLINA 0, WEST TENN (MARINERS) 4: RHP Daryl Thompson (0-4) started for Carolina and lasted just 1.2 innings before he fell ill due to the hot weather (5h, 3r/2er, 1k)…LHP Lee Tabor came in relief of Thompson and fired 3.1 scoreless innings (1h, 2bb, 3k)…the Mudcats were blanked on 8 hits (1-for-11 w/RISP, 9 LOB)…SS Kris Negron and DH Brandon Yarbrough had 2 hits apiece.
WILMINGTON (ROYALS) 3, LYNCHBURG 2: RHP Lance Janke started for Lynchburg and allowed an unearned run on 2 hits in 7.0 innings (2bb, 4k)…LHP Donnie Joseph (0-2) took the loss in relief (1.1ip, 1h, 1r, 3k, 1hr)…RF Kyle Day led the offense with 2 hits, an RBI and a run scored.
DAYTON 5, BOWLING GREEN (RAYS) 4:The Dragons have now won 4 straight…RHP Jacob Johnson started for Dayton and was reached for 4 runs on 7 hits in 4.0 innings (2bb, 5k, 1hr)…RHP Blair Carson (3-3) fired 4.0 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win (1bb, 2k)…RHP Kevin Arico pitched a scoreless 9th for his 2nd save (2h, 1k)…the Dragons scored 5 runs on 8 hits…C Mark Fleury went 2-for-4 with a 3-run homer that took out the Green Grape guy at the nearby Fruit of the Loom facility…CF Ryan LaMarre had 2 hits (1r, 1rbi, 1bb).
MISSOULA (D’BACKS) 5, BILLINGS 3:RHP Daniel Corcino (0-2) started for Billings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits in 3.0 innings (3bb, 4k)…LHP Tzu-Kai Chiu was outstanding in his 5.0 innings of relief, allowing just 2 unearned runs on 3 hits with no walks and 4 strikeouts…the Mustangs plated 3 runs on 7 hits…LF Dayne Read went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.
AZL INDIANS 6, AZL REDS 3: RHP Carlos Contreras (1-1) started for the Reds and gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in 4.1 innings (3bb, 2k)…RHP El’Hajj Muhammad pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief (2bb, 2k)…SS Junior Arias went 2-for-5.

HOOK, LINE & KLINKER
Last night, Louisville’s Matt Klinker pitched 6.0 shutout innings at Indianapolis to notch his 3rd victory as a Bat…in 17 games overall split between Louisville and Carolina, Klinker is 8-5 with a 2.22 ERA (105.1ip, 30r/26er, 27bb, 89k, 7hr, .221oba)…his 2.22 ERA ranks 4th-best in all of Minor League baseball among pitchers with at least 105.1 innings.
Congratulations to Billings’ Daniel Tuttle who this week was named Pioneer League Pitcher of the Week for 6/28-7/4…for the week, Tuttle went 2-0 and allowed just 3 runs on 6 hits in 12.0 innings (3bb, 12k).
