DAYTON 6, LANSING (BLUE JAYS) 7: 11 INNINGS – Lansing scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 11th to win it…RHP Tim Crabbe started for Dayton and pitched 5.0 scoreless innings (1h, 6bb, 6k)…RHP Pedro Villareal (3-5) gave up 3 runs (1er) in 0.2 innings to suffer the loss…the Dragons scored 6 runs on 12 hits…LF Cameron Satterwhite went 3-for-5 with 3 doubles, 2 runs scored and an RBI…C Mark Fleury (2rbi) and 1b Chris Richburg both homered…Richburg’s landed on the roof of State Side Deli in Okemos…CF Ryan LaMarre (2nd round pick) went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

BILLINGS 8, MISSOULA (D’BACKS) 9: LHP Tanner Robles started for Billings and allowed 4 runs (3er) on 5 hits in 2.2 innings (3bb, 2k, 1hr)…LHP Blaine Howell (0-1) suffered the loss in relief (1ip, 4h, 2r)…the Mustangs ponied up 8 runs on 12 hits…3b Oliver “Sugar” Santos went 4-for-5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored…DH Juan Duran blasted a home run into a real-life bear cave at nearby Rattlesnake Wilderness…RF Yorman Rodriguez (2-for-5, 3 RBI) also homered.

AZL REDS: The AZL Reds were off yesterday observing the 134th anniversary of the death of Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer at the Battle of Little Bighorn.


LHP Travis Wood (Louisville) last night at Norfolk pitched 8.0 shutout innings (5h, 1bb, 9k) to record his 5th victory of the season…beginning 5/18, Wood has pitched 8 consecutive quality starts (4-2, 1.62 ERA, 55.2ip, 12r/10er, 11bb, 56k, .186 opponents batting average). 

Yesterday RHP Brad Boxberger was promoted from Class-A Lynchburg to Double-A Carolina…Boxberger, 22, went 4-6 with a 3.19 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts) for Lynchburg and pitched a scoreless inning of relief earlier this week in the Carolina League vs California League All-Star Game.
