**Just in to Better Off Red Headquarters…

In the latest National League All-Star balloting update, four Reds have cracked the top 5 within their respective positions.  Joey Votto, Scott Rolen, Orlando Cabrera and Brandon Phillips are all among leading vote-getters at first base, third base, shortstop and second base, respectively.

Join me tomorrow (Wednesday, June 16) on Twitter for another Vote Reds Lunch.  This time we’ll focus our efforts on one of the most exciting second basemen in the game – Brandon Phillips

Beginning at 12:30pm ET tomorrow, find me on Twitter ( to confirm your votes for Brandon and to share with me what you’re enjoying for lunch.  Good times will be had by all.  I’ll post the participants on Better Off Red later in the day.

From my colleague Michael Anderson (former child star who appeared prominently in My Little Pony commercials from the time he as 8 until his retirement at the age 16.):

Thanks to the more than 800 Reds fans that visited the Cincinnati Zoo yesterday for a Q&A with Brandon Phillips, Micah Owings and Drew Stubbs.

Aaron Harang, Chris Heisey, Nick Masset, and Rob Butcher attended Saturday’s Kenton County Animal Shelter’s Adopt-A-Thon.  Here are some photos…

We’ve already got some Floridians answering the Better Off Red Reds State Challenge!  Take a look….

From Jessi Butcher (above left):

I am entering a picture of me and my girlfriends (Kim and Vanessa) when the Reds were in Miami!  Even though I am from Kansas City, MO I live in Jacksonville.

Thanks, Jessi!

From Amanda Graziani:

Hi Jamie,

Attached is a pic of me, my mom and Jeff Brantley at Fin Daddy’s in Sarasota after a spring training game.  Paul Daugherty hosted his radio show there.  Born and raised in Northern KY I can’t even begin to count the number of Reds games I’ve been to.  It’s a family tradition to go to Opening Day each year and I still have continued that since I moved to Tampa 4 years ago.  I was devastated when they moved the Spring Training facility to Arizona!  I’m so excited with how well the Reds are doing this year and I’m so excited that my favorite player Jonny Gomes is doing so awesome!  Living in Tampa, I followed Jonny when he was with the Rays, I was so upset when they didn’t re-sign him, but was so excited that the Reds picked him up.  He’s such a great team player, how can you not like this guy.  Hopefully you’ll get lots of responses from Florida!

Great job, Amanda!  Thank you!

If you’re a Reds fan from Florida, send me the photographic proof (  You have until Sunday at midnight ET to participate!

And speaking of Jeff Brantley

Mercury Marty and I are beginning the campaign for The Cowboy to sing “God Bless America” at a future Reds Sunday game at Great American Ball Park.

Help us make this happen by emailing me your pledge of allegiance to Brantley singing one of our nation’s great songs.

That’s all for now.  I’ll be back later with today’s Reds Farm Report…

Take care and thanks for logging on!!
