PAWTUCKET (RED SOX) 3, LOUISVILLE 4: RHP Chad Reineke started for Louisville and gave up 1 run on 10 hits in 7.0 innings (1bb, 2k)…RHP Jared Burton (1-0) earned the win in relief (1ip, 1h, 2r/2er, 1bb, 1hr)…RHP Jon Adkins completely dominated the 9th inning to collect his 6th save…the Bats scored 4 runs on 11 hits…3b Todd Frazier went 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI…2b Drew Sutton extended his hitting streak to 11 games by ripping 2 doubles (1r, 1rbi)…SS Zack Cozart (2010 “Rock-Star Leg” Caravan Member) and LF Michael Griffin had 2 hits apiece. 

CAROLINA 7, CHATTANOOGA (DODGERS) 10: LHP Alexander Smit (1-5) started for Carolina and was reached for 7 runs on 7 hits in 3.2 innings (3bb, 2k)…the Mudcats scored 7 runs on 12 hits…1b Mike Costanzo went 3-for-4 with a home run (#2) and 4 RBI…C Brandon Yarbrough (2-for-4, 3 RBI) blasted a homer into the McKee Foods building, bringing Little Debbie snack cakes production to a temporary halt…2b Jake Kahaulelio and CF Dave Sappelt had 2 hits each. 

LYNCHBURG 5, FREDERICK (ORIOLES) 6: RHP James Avery started for Lynchburg and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 5.0 innings (2bb, 4k, 1hr)…LHP Donnie Joseph (0-1) suffered the loss in relief (2.1ip, 3h, 2r, 1bb, 5k)…the Hillcats plated 5 runs on 8 hits…3b Carlos Mendez went 3-for-4 with a run scored…CF Efrain Contreras (2-for-4, 2rbi, 1r) belted his 2nd home run of the season.

CLINTON (MARINERS) 4, DAYTON 2: RHP Pedro Villareal (3-4) started for Dayton and allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 5.0 innings (0bb, 3k)…RHP Tim Crabbe pitched 4.0 scoreless innings of relief (2h, 0bb, 5k)…the Dragons scored 3 runs on 10 hits…2b Henry Rodriguez and DH Chris Richburg both had 3 hits…SS Didi Gregorius went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored.

LHP Aroldis Chapman tonight will make his 11th start of the season for Louisville as the Bats take on the Pawtucket Red Sox at Slugger Field…Chapman is coming off his longest outing of the season in which he gave up 2 runs over 7.0 innings in Tuesday’s 4-3 loss at Columbus (ND, 4h, 3bb, 5k, 88TP).

Dayton’s Henry Rodriguez today was named the Midwest League Player of the Week for 5/31-6/6…in  6 games he batted .458 (11-24) with 1 HR, 6 RBI and 5 runs scored.

RHP Jon Adkins yesterday for Louisville notched his 6th save of the season and his 36th career save as a Bat…with 36 saves, he now ranks 2nd all-time in franchise history behind Mark Grater (39 saves).
