TRAINING DAY
The Reds pushed across 6 runs on 15 hits but it wasn’t enough to beat the Rockies today in Tucson. Colorado beat the Redlegs, 10-6. Aaron Harang started for Cincinnati and allowed 7 runs on 9 hits in 2.2 innings (2bb, 1k, 1hr).
I know some of you folks automatically push the panic button anytime the Reds lose a spring training game, so before you fire off a nasty comment that would make your mom want to disown you, let’s all take a collective deep breath and finish it off with a yoga “OMMM.” Remember, it’s Spring Training. While talking with C. Trent today, he cited some very good examples as to why performances in March aren’t meant to be taken too seriously (example: Zack Greinke’s 2009 Cactus League numbers compared to his regular season stats).
And if that doesn’t make you feel any better, perhaps I can enlighten you with an example of my buffoonery…After the game, I fell asleep on the bus with a drink in my hand and my feet stretched out onto the seat in front of me. I woke up only after spilling my beverage all over myself. While trying to gather my bearings to assess the damage, I gave myself an excruciating ”charlie horse” in my right calf. Trust me, it wasn’t one of the most eloquent span of 5 seconds in my life.
Nearly 6 hours on a bus and a 3 hour game in which the Redlegs lost wasn’t the best day I’ve had since I’ve been here in Arizona, but the consolation prize was getting to see all of the cool military planes and helicopters flying over Hi Corbett Field. Due to the fact that Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is near the ballpark, we were treated to some heavy duty aircraft flying overhead….
==========
More random photos to hopefully prove to the courts that I was at this game today…
This is not me, your honor.

I’ll be back tomorrow…Time to watch some hoops and relax a little!
As ALWAYS, thank you-thank you-thank you for logging on! I appreciate the opprotunity to share all of this stuff you folks. I’m having a lot of fun.
Take care!
Jamie
PS - Where are your Reds Cap Club photos?! Sheesh….
